About Me

  1. Background

    1. MA Christian Education, MA Marriage and Family Counseling – Both from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

    2. Licensed Professional Counselor, Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Crisis Intervention Stress Management

    3. 25 years of experience as a counselor and 34 years of walking with hurting and struggling people.  (34 years of church and parachurch experience)

  2. Specialty

    1. Areas of focus:  Marriage, Family, Blended Families/CoParenting, Depression, Anxiety, Identity Issues, Teens, Anger Management, Grief/Loss and Trauma

    2. I love working with couples!  There is not much worse than struggling through a lifeless, even toxic marriage.  I love helping couples reconnect, heal, learn to communicate, have real intimacy, and ultimately have the marriage that was always possible.  I am able to see great healing take place where marriages, families and even generations are changed for the better.

    3. I also love working with individuals who have lost their way, who have become discouraged and even fearful in this sometimes difficult world we live in.  Helping people realign their toxic environments with greater truth and empowerment, is one of the joys of my life.  Freedom and joy is the desire of every heart.  I love being a part of people realizing that in their own life.

    4. I believe marriage is the foundation of our society.  A great marriage correlates with a great family.  A great family correlates with great communities and positive changes in culture and society.  It also impacts generations to come as they pass down crucial ideas, guidelines and behaviors.   I love to invest in marriages because the ripple effects so much.

  3. Overview

I simply love people!  I am a shepherd and love walking alongside those who are struggling.  I am a great listener and can really put people at ease in a therapeutic setting.  I have a ton of experience and can offer a great deal of resources in many different situations.

I love my family!  I am a new grandfather and love to spend time with my new grandaughter.  I enjoy hiking and biking.  My faith is very important to me but I don't push it on anyone.
